We “assemble” in a room once or twice a week, arriving and leaving as scheduled, sitting in formation, facing the same direction, singing the same songs, following the same program, standing, sitting, greeting and giving on cue, hearing the same message, fulfilling the same expectations, conforming to the same dogma, etc. etc.
We’re all players in a grand performance, playing “Follow the Leader” and “Simon Says”, “assembled together” for a common cause but…
Are we really one!
Consider what A.W. Tozer once said…
“Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshipers met together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to become ‘unity’ conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.”
This echoes what Paul said…
“Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other…” Colossians 3:15 The Message (MSG)

Notice, unity doesn’t come when we seek to become one by doing things together or believing the same things or being in the same place at the same time. We can’t create unity. We can’t produce it by bringing everyone into conformity and agreement. Instead, it comes when each one of us walk/live in the Light just as God (Who IS Light) is IN the Light, which conforms us to Him and brings us into agreement with Him.
True unity is a byproduct of fellowship wherein each part of the Body doesn’t try to become one with other parts but simply abides in the Lord Himself.
The Trinity isn’t one because They had a meeting and chose to be one; on the contrary, They are united into one because They love one another. As we each set ourselves to love Him with all our spirit, soul, mind and strength, we will love one another and become together what our Godhead has always known and enjoyed together [Note: The image on the right portrays a reality of life and relationship within the Trinity that They are forever inviting us into. In conclusion, T. Austin Sparks affirms this bond between us (the Body) and our Head and shows us how to enter into it when he says…
“In the Body of Christ the Holy Spirit is the great nervous system, and only as there is an immediate response to every intimation of the will of the Head and the life unbrokenly in correspondence with His mind, can there be an expression of the unity of which the New Testament speaks.”

open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. From Mathew 6 the Message. This definitely resonates with me😂. It is a lot of fun living in the light. We get to “bring the peace” and fill everything with God’s presence.
