John Wright Follette

A Short Biography — Written by Wade E. Taylor

John Wright Follette was a man who intimately knew God. He was a gifted Bible teacher and author, who had both perspective and spiritual depth in his interpretation of the Word. He was an illuminated spirit in the field of spiritual reality, and had an unusual ability to impart “spirit and life” into those who sat under his ministry.

This gifted Huguenot poet, and deeply spiritual teacher, who lived in New Paltz, New York traced his ancestry back to those unconquerable people whose descendants made history, and who arrived in the area of his birth in the 1660’s.

He received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1913 while a student at a Bible School in Rochester, New York, and later became a teacher there until the school closed. He also taught for many years at Southern California Bible College.

During the later years of his life, he was called into a wider field, ministering in conferences and retreats which took him around the world.  He passed into his eternal reward in 1966 at the age of 82.

John Wright Follette greatly influenced my life (Wade Taylor). Several times, I was able to spend quality time with him in his home, and I received from him a powerful impartation of the “spiritual life and substance” that was resident within him.

FOLLETTE’S WRITINGS & TRANSCRIBED MESSAGES WILL BE POSTED SOON.

  1. Although I was only a kid when John Follette was in our home, I found out later that I was named after him. My father was a personal friend of Follette’s and a deep admirer.

  2. The influence of John Wright Follette must have been truly profound and he profoundly influenced my friend, Wade E. Taylor, who in turn, has forever influenced me. “That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.” Prov. 4:21

Wade Taylor must have received something of the “substance” of JWF. They both entered into something greater (far beyond) what is presently the established level of experience and spiritual understanding. Surely, the secret of the Lord is with them that fear (adore) Him, and he will show them His Covenant. Ps. 25:14 (A high level of personal intimacy and revelation).

Even I, as a friend of Brother Taylor, received something of a higher level of understanding of the Kingdom and of our relation to it. I remain the most grateful and deeply touched, that a man like Taylor would condescend to be my friend and a father in my walk until his passing on Feb. 29th, 2012.

There is more to be said about W. Taylor, who founded Pinecrest Bible Training Center in Upstate New York (1968). It is my deep belief he occupied a very “high” rank or office to wit, he was the spiritual “elder” of the nation. This is my personal belief. This is something I will believe the rest of my life, right or wrong: if any man possessed this office it was him.

These men entered into something far beyond this life and went deeper and saw further. They entered into mysteries within the Kingdom. Taylor never got over what John Follette possessed spiritually. I in turn cannot get over a man like Taylor. You never forget this sort of man. I never will.

Taylor wrote three profound books and to me the most devotional is, Waterspouts of Glory. If you are reading this, I can only assume you are, like myself, deeply longing to enter into something “more” in the Kingdom of Heaven. We have come at the right season. May you be imparted with knowledge and blessed beyond measure as you seek the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Jesus, the Messiah.
